Canyoning Kozjak – canyoning Slovenia in history
Not far from the historical city Caporetto-Kobarid, there lies a fairytale canyon, showing its majesty in a 15m waterfall Kozjak. After a 30 min drive from Bovec, we reach a stone bridge crossing the Soca river.
The bridge is called Napoleon bridge as in the time of his conquering French troops were crossing the bridge. And just a glimpse away from the bridge, we start our hike towards the top of the Kozjak canyon. The ascent to the canyon takes us about 30 min on an alpine trail.
In 2,5 hours we let ourselves free in the mystical pools filled with crystal clear waters, jump the more technical and blood pumping jumps, descend on ropes and feel the freshness of the drops sparkling on our faces finishing our journey in a total of 4h. Kozjak is considered an advanced canyon, so good physical preparation is advised.

How difficult is Kozjak canyoning?
Compared to Fratarica – Predelica, Kozjak and Globoški potok canyons demand slightly more confidence, courage and physical condition.
They are considered as demanding or very challenging canyons. They are canyons with several technical jumps and rappels.
We recommend Predelica, Kozjak or Globoški potok to guests who are generally at a good fitness level, are active, sporty, who love the genuine touch of the water and don’t have an issue with heights.
Kozjak especially has its reputation set by specifically high and technical jumps.
