Majestic canyoning Soca – Globoški potok
Globoški potok is a steep stream that lies above the valley of the river Učja. The starting point for visiting Globoški potok is about 5 km from Bovec, 10 min drive, in the village of Žaga, where we start a one-hour hike to the point where the gorge begins.
After descending over the last waterfall, we return to the starting point along the trail in a bit less than an hour. It takes us about 3-4 hours to descend the gorge, and together with the approach walk and return to the starting point, it all takes about 5-6 hours.
The tour can be extended by returning along the Učje riverbed, where walking, swimming and jumping await you. In time, this variant can be half to one hour longer.
How difficult is Globoški potok canyoning?
The descent through the gorge requires good physical fitness and some homeliness with hanging on a rope, as it is necessary to descend on the rope over dizzyingly high waterfalls several times on our descent.
Due to the length and the frequent use of the rope, the whole tour is very demanding. The water at the highest waterfall falls 40 meters deep, and the peak of the descent is represented by the last three about 30 meters high waterfalls, which line up one after the other.
Here, the simultaneous feelings of airiness and beauty are glorious.
