The most beautiful and exciting school you could attend
Kayaking Slovenia offers multi-day kayak courses on the Soca river.
Join us on the thrilling kayak Bovec!
Soca river kayaking is one of the most enchanting adventures you can experience in Soca valley.
You can discover the river in a more intimate atmosphere in small groups and be your own captain of the boat. If you are in doubt and facing imbalance, do not worry, the guide is monitoring your every stroke. After learning the basics – it’s game time. Soca river kayak will offer you an amazing ride, challenge and motivate you, might get you a bit wet, but we are certain of one thing – you will come back smiling.
In the company of an experienced guide, you will paddle your way through rock mazes, play in the currents and eddies, and occasionally quiet your heart in an emerald pool. We guarantee that the kayak Soča experience is worth the effort. If you are a beginner, we recommend that you participate in at least a two or three-day kayak course before taking on the rapids.
Minimum participants and group dynamics
- Whitewater kayaks are single boats,
- one kayaker sits in one kayak,
- minimum number of guests: 2,
- maximum number of kayakers per guide: 4 – 6.
Our groups are normally smaller. If you are alone, don’t worry, we will join you in a group. Joining a trip as a couple, it’s more likely you will join a small team of kayaking adventurers. A family or a group of friends? You might have a guide for yourself. If you are in doubt or worried, about how would you fit in, contact us without hesitation. We will customize your trip in a way that everyone will leave our boats pleased.
Soca river kayaking builds skill and proficiency
Soča river kayaking in Slovenia is considered by many to be the best sport on the river. Of course, that is not possible without proper knowledge and experience. If you don’t possess those assets but would like to, we can take care of them in our kayak courses. We will make sure that you become a genuine kayaker.
Our intense multi-day courses on Soca river which last 2 to 3 hours each day will give you the confidence and skills to take on even the most demanding situations on the water. Knowledge of the laws and power of water and mastering paddling techniques will enable you to freely enjoy the river, which will inevitably get under your skin and for many will become a lifelong love of this amazing sport. To obtain proficiency, we recommend at least a 2 or 3-day course.
In case you haven’t tried kayaking yet but you would like to just get a one time feeling of it, we recommend you a guided sit-on-top kayak trip.
How difficult are our kayak courses?
We can measure difficulty in two ways. One way is how physically challenging it is, and the other, how technical and adventurous it is. All of our trips are guided. That means a highly qualified, licensed guide escorts you and gives directions and safety instructions. Kayak courses are, compared to rafting or guided sit-on-top kayak trips, considered a challenging activity. We recommended guests to be healthy and in good general physical condition. The courses are longer in time (2,5h on the river) focusing on practice and repetitive exercises. In case you decide on a multi-day kayak course, we recommend we plan the schedule together – it’s important to have a rest day in between.
As for the adrenaline part – we measure rivers with grades that reach up to class VI. The commercial section of Soca river that we usually kayak on with our future kayaking professionals i.e. beginners, spreads between class I-II. The river is wider on the sections we kayak on. It offers some really scenic views of the surrounding mountain range, combining flat sections and easy rapids. If you have previous experience in kayaking on whitewater the guide can choose a more challenging section and adapt the program to your level of knowledge.
What about our youngest?
Our kayak courses are not recommended for kids younger than 14 years.
