Mini rafting Soča

Mini raft

A thrilling rafting experience for two – experience adrenalin in double.

For mini rafting, you only need a bathing suit, towel and some dry underwear to change. In case of sunny weather, we recommend wearing sunscreen – your body is for the most part covered, but your face is still exposed to the sun. Since our mini rafting trips are organised in the low season mainly, we recommend packing extra sleeves in your backpack or dressing weather appropriately.

The equipment doesn’t differ from the classic rafting trip. Both mini rafters would receive a helmet, neoprene suit, anorak, life vest and neoprene shoes. The boat is in fact, smaller than the classic raft but there is still place for 3 rafters altogether. Which means you would be accompanied by a professional, experienced, licenced guide. Transportation to the starting point and back to our agency in Bovec as well as the river pass is included. At the end of each of our trips, we gift you with free photography as a sign of gratitude that you chose us to guide you on your whitewater adventure.

Our season starts on the 15.3. when the Soca river officially opens for commercial purposes and finishes on 31.10. The activity is not performed in the high season. There are some exceptions, but it’s necessary to send an enquiry to check if we have availability to arrange the trip. The entire trip would require 3h of your time.

The Mini rafting is available in the low season from 15.3. – 21.6. and 20.9 to 31.10. at: :

  • 9:00,
  • 12:00.

For a more adrenaline ride, we recommend visiting in spring, thus having higher and more stable water levels of the Soca River, due to melting snow in the mountains. In early spring or late autumn, we can sometimes face higher water levels. If the water level is too high to safely organise the trip we might have to take the right to change the section and replace it with a safer one or reschedule until the water level is suitable for the mini rafting tour.

If you are arriving in Bovec Slovenia the same day as your scheduled rafting or you have other activities on your schedule that requires planning, our meeting times in our agency are:

  • 8:45,
  • 11:45.

In low season we can sometimes be more flexible and adapt timings based on your needs. When you enquire about your reservation you can let us know your wishes and we will see if we can make a personalized schedule for you.

Mini raft – the rafting experience for two

Mini raft is the perfect activity if you wish to experience the adrenaline whitewater adventure in double. Let the flow take you on the Boka / Srpenica – Trnovo section and in 1,5 h on the river, experience the whitewater currents in a smaller boat.  Mini raft is a smaller version of a rafting boat that can carry 2 people plus a guide. The mini raft is performed on the same section as the big raft Boka – Trnovo, the difference is especially in the feeling of the river as the smaller size of the boat enables a more sensual connection to the river so we can experience the power of the river. It differs also in the sitting position since in the mini raft we kneel.

  • Minimum and maximum number of participants: 2,
  • if you are alone, a bigger group or a family we would recommend you an alternative, like the classic rafting.

How difficult is mini rafting?

Mini rafting is normally performed in the same section as classic rafting. As far as physical difficulty is concerned, mini rafting is considered to be a moderate activity. Considering there are just 3 rafters including the guide in the mini raft, you need to put some extra power into your paddles. The technical part of the river reaches class IV out of VI grades, which means that it is as well technically more demanding than for example family rafting. In addition, we have to remind that the sitting position is not the same as on the classic rafting since we kneel in the mini raft. Whoever has trouble with their knees, mini rafting is not recommendable.

What about our youngest?

The mini rafting trip is appropriate for kids from the age of 14.
